Waxing

Why men are choosing waxing.

Men are waxing for the same reasons women have for years: it lasts three to six weeks instead of two days, regrowth comes back softer rather than stubbly, and it skips the daily razor rash. Backs, chests, shoulders and necklines are the most-booked. At our Aldgate clinic it's done privately, by appointment, with no fuss.

In short

  • Waxing lasts 3–6 weeks vs a day or two for shaving — with no stubble or razor rash.
  • Most-booked for men: back, chest, shoulders, neckline, plus ear, nose and brow tidy-ups.
  • Regrowth comes back softer and sparser over time — “thicker after waxing” is a shaving myth.
  • Done privately and discreetly with Mikki or Manisha — first-timers welcome.
  • Strip wax for large areas, hot wax for finer or sensitive ones — your therapist chooses.

Why men are switching from the razor

The razor is quick, but it's a daily job that rarely looks or feels good for long.

Shaved body hair grows back within a day or two, often with itch, rash and ingrown bumps as the blunt-cut hairs push through. Waxing removes the hair from the root, so you get three to six weeks of smooth skin, no five-o'clock stubble, and no nicks. Over time, regularly waxed hair grows back finer and sparser — the opposite of the stubble cycle.

The areas men book most

The big ones are back, chest, shoulders and stomach — areas that are awkward or impossible to shave well yourself. The neckline and nape keep a haircut sharp between barber visits. Quick tidy-ups of the ears, nose and brows (including between the brows) take minutes. Intimate waxing for men is available too, always booked privately.

Does it hurt? Honestly?

The first wax stings, especially on the back and chest where hair is dense — but it's quick, and it genuinely eases with regular visits as the hair grows back finer. We use low-temperature Lycon wax and work fast, which keeps it as comfortable as waxing gets. Expect the skin to be a little pink for an hour or two afterwards; that's it.

The “it grows back thicker” myth

It doesn't. Shaving cuts the hair across its thickest point, so the blunt tip feels coarser as it regrows — that's the illusion. Waxing pulls the whole hair from the follicle; do it regularly and the follicle weakens, so regrowth actually comes back finer and thinner over time. Anyone who's waxed for a year will tell you the same.

Discretion and what to expect

Men's and intimate waxing is by appointment in a private treatment room with Mikki or Manisha. First-timers are common and very welcome — we explain each step and work efficiently. Most areas fit a City lunch break, and a course of six (price of five, never expiring) keeps you smooth year-round. If you're weighing it against laser, we offer both and will give you a straight answer.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

What do men get waxed most?
Back, chest, shoulders and the neckline are the most popular, along with quick tidy-ups of the ears, nose and brows. Intimate waxing for men is available too, booked privately.
Does waxing hurt more for men?
The first wax stings, especially on the back and chest, but it's quick and eases a lot with regular visits as hair grows back finer. Low-temperature Lycon wax and an experienced therapist keep it comfortable.
Does body hair grow back thicker after waxing?
No — that's a shaving myth. Shaving bluntly cuts the tip so it feels coarser; waxing removes the hair from the root, and over time the follicle weakens and regrowth comes back finer and sparser.
Is waxing or laser better for men?
Waxing gives a clean result every few weeks with no commitment; laser reduces hair long-term over a course. Many men start with waxing and move to laser for lasting reduction on the back or chest. We offer both and can advise.
Is men's waxing done discreetly?
Yes. Men's and intimate waxing is by appointment in a private treatment room with Mikki or Manisha. First-timers are common and very welcome — we talk you through every step.
